QUESTION: Application of non-personalized recommenders.

While a personalized recommendation system suggests products to a user based on their previous purchase history, a non-personalized recommender system displays products that are popular among the people in general during that time period.

An important application of non-personalized recommenders will be to engage your new customer and create a good first impression of your brand by recommending trending products on your website. Some techniques that help to  achieve that are:

-          Product trending: The main purpose of displaying these trending products is to keep the visitors engaged and get them converted into customers by constantly updating the products in real-time.

-          Product Ranking or Sequencing: helps in deciding the order that the products must be displayed on your web page. Intuitively, this order should be based on the likelihood of a product being clicked or bought by customers.

In conclusion, it will be a good application to new shops that want to engage new customers but they don’t still have enough information about them so they need to use non-personalized recommendation systems.
