Dear Participants in the “Science Communication, Fundraising & Career Development Course” (by Ralf Dahm),

For those of you interested in receiving live feedback from Ralf in approx. 3 weeks, we are proposing a set of activities from which you can choose (you may also complete more than one, if you wish):

1) Revise your CV

2) Prepare a 2-minute presentation on a scientific project, e.g. a project you are currently working on or one you would like to develop in the future

3) Write a motivation letter / application letter for a scholarship, postdoctoral position, or job application (maximum: half to three-quarters of a page)

4) Prepare a 2-min pitch (maximum 2 min) describing an idea you would like to pursue & for which you seek funding

During a 1-hour session, Ralf can provide feedback, for example, on 1–2 presentations, 1–2 CVs, and 1–2 letters. The remaining activities can be discussed in a peer-to-peer setting and/or with my support (I, Natascia, will also be present).

At the end of the course, students who are interested in developing a real-life fundraising activity may contact me to discuss the possible options in a separate session with Ralf and me.

We look forward to your feedback, which you can share via the Moodle chat or by contacting me directly, after discussion with your peers, in order to agree on a date and time.

Let’s keep in touch!

Best regards,

Natascia Tiso
