This course provides an introduction to the key concepts, technologies, and challenges behind wireless networks and their applications in mobile environments. Students will explore the main issues arising in wireless communication and examine the protocols and solutions designed to address them.
The course covers fundamental terminology and principles of wireless networking, together with an overview of state-of-the-art technologies and alternative approaches. Particular attention is devoted to understanding how wireless services are designed and delivered, and how current technologies may evolve to support future mobile applications and services.
Through the analysis of real-world wireless scenarios and applications, students will develop an understanding of both the opportunities and challenges of wireless systems. The course also provides the practical foundations needed to design and implement a project focused on the analysis, development, and evaluation of wireless protocols and mobile applications.
