Telescopes and instrumentation for astronomy from the ground or space in the optical and near infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Basic concepts and cases studies in order to possibly conceive, develop and build succesful astronomical instrumentation to observe from the ground through the turbulent atmosphere, from an in-orbit space platform or in-situ, around a comet or on the soil of an alien planet.
