The Epidemiology and surveillance laboratory, coordinated by
Prof. Vincenzo Baldo (Department of Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular
Sciences and Public Health, University of Padova), is looking
for a Data Scientist/Statistician/Mathematician to join the team.
The main responsibilities include data management (collection,
cleaning, etc.) of complex datasets from the regional health system,
data analysis (exploration, visualization, statistical analysis),
and modeling. The successful candidate will collaborate with the
team for result interpretation and communication, and contribute
to the research and development of mathematical/statistical
methodologies. Requirements include being a master's student or
graduate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related
field, practical experience with statistical programming languages
(R, Python, etc.), knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
and data modeling, experience in managing datasets, knowledge of
data visualization tools (ggplot, matplotlib, etc.), and ability
to work in teams and communicate effectively. The position is
open to student internships and could offer a paid scholarship
(up to 12 months) after graduation.
