This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of rock mechanics, faults, earthquakes, and the seismic cycle. The course will include laboratory activities and a field trip to the central Apennines to visit beautiful outcrops of fault zones. The course does not require any special knowledge of geology, but rather your interest in Earth sciences.
