This course focuses on advanced processing techniques, with specific focus on the following topics: advanced deep learning techniques for multimedia signals, new-generation multimedia contents (omni-directional images and videos, point clouds, Virtual Reality), compression of new-generation multimedia contents based on deep learning.
The course will be composed of about 60% of theoretical lectures and about 40% of lab lectures. Therefore, it will additionally provide the students with programming skills for advanced processing techniques for multimedia signals and programming skills for the design of Virtual Reality Environments.
