Corsi
The course allows the student to acquire a good understanding of the fundamental concepts of soil mechanics.
Initially, students learn about the main soil classification systems for engineering purposes, the mechanisms of interaction between the solid and liquid phases present in the soil, the stress-strain relationships commonly used to describe mechanical behavior, and the methods for determining the parameters that characterize them.
Subsequently, the course provides a basic understanding of geotechnical problems such as changes in the stress state of the soil due to applied loads and resulting settlements.
Finally, we will explore the most commonly used on-site investigation techniques and how they can be integrated with geophysical surveys.
