Courses

This course provides an overview of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression. Topics include cancer genetics and carcinogenesis, oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, DNA repair and epigenetic alterations, cell-cycle control, cell growth and death, cancer metabolism, tumor–microenvironment interactions, invasion and metastasis, and cancer genomics. Particular attention will be given to how alterations in these processes contribute to tumor initiation, evolution, and heterogeneity, and to their implications for cancer diagnosis and therapy. The course combines lectures with seminars, student-led Journal Clubs, and practical sessions in which students will explore cancer genomic and omics data using publicly available databases and analysis tools.
