Abstract
Increasing global energy demand and concerns about environmental impact have led to radical technological changes in the aerospace research field. Novel aircraft design, fuels and propulsion system concepts are being researched and developed to reduce the environmental footprint of aviation.
However, decarbonizing aviation is not an easy task: all these promising solutions open to exciting opportunities but poses challenges too, one of which is managing the high heat loads generated on board of future aircrafts. This talk will highlight the last developments and new approaches to aircraft thermal management using boiling flows to enable sustainable aviation systems.
