Italian Erasmus is a national mobility programme set up by Ministerial Decree 548 of 28/03/2024 and is based on conventions established between the various Italian universities.

The currently available destinations within the Chemical and Process Engineering degree programme are:

  • University of Naples Federico II
  •  University of Pisa
  • University of Calabria

For all information about mobility opportunities and the general University procedure, please visit this page.

Some additional procedural steps apply, in addition to the general University procedure. The extra steps specific to this degree programme are described on this page.

Please note that applications that do not comply with the procedure described on this page (including the required format for email attachments) will not be considered. Likewise, any Learning Agreement submitted for signature without prior evaluation from the Student Procedure Committee will not be taken into consideration.

Before departure

If you have been selected for a study period under the Italian Erasmus national mobility programme, you must prepare a Learning Agreement before your departure and have it preliminarily reviewed and approved by the Degree Programme Council.

Before submitting the Learning Agreement through the general University procedure, you must first obtain preliminary approval from the Student Procedure Committee by following the steps outlined below. Once your proposal has been pre-approved, you may then submit/send the Learning Agreement according to the general application procedure of the University:

  • First, the proposal must be prepared and agreed with the Student Procedure Committee, in order to check its overall consistency with the degree programme. To do so, the national study plan assessment form (in Microsoft Word format) and the syllabi of the proposed courses must be emailed to all members of the Student Procedure Committee (career.procedures.CPE@dii.unipd.it) well before the University deadlines. In the case of a Master’s thesis, the proposal must also be discussed and agreed with the UNIPD thesis supervisor and the hosting University supervisor, so that the thesis topic is preliminarily defined. In this case, in addition to the national study plan assessment form (in Microsoft Word format), the Letter from the thesis supervisor must be attached to the same email.
In all cases, the email subject line must be: “Learning Agreement proposal national mobility Surname First Name”.
  • Finally, once you have obtained approval from the Student Procedure Committee, you may complete your Learning Agreement and submit it according to the general University procedure described on the Italian Erasmus national mobility page

Applications that do not comply with this procedure (including the required format for email attachments) will not be considered. Given the many institutional activities in which the members of the Student Procedure Committee are involved, any requests for “urgent” processing of authorisation procedures will not be accepted. Any Learning Agreement sent for signature to the Responsible person at the Sending University without prior authorisation from the Student Procedure Committee will not be taken into consideration. You are therefore strongly advised to plan carefully when to submit your application to the Committee. The Committee generally responds promptly, but it may take up to 10 working days to process your application. You will always receive a reply by email. If your Learning Agreement is preliminarily approved by the Student Procedure Committee, you are required to personally verify that your proposal is formally approved by the Degree Programme Council at its first meeting held after the date on which the preliminary approval email was sent to you. The minutes of the Degree Programme Council (CCS) meetings can be found on this page. If you notice any discrepancies between the content of the minutes and the proposal that was preliminarily approved by the Student Procedure Committee, you must immediately inform the Degree Programme Coordinator.

During the stay at the Receiving University

During your stay, before making any change or addition to your approved Learning Agreement, you must first inform and discuss it with the Student Procedure Committee. You must follow the same procedure (including sending the documents, as if you were doing it for the first time). The only difference is that in the e-mail accompanying your application, you must indicate in a simplified but thorough manner any changes that you intend to make to your previously approved Learning Agreement and the reasons for such changes.

If, during your stay, you are unable to take part in some of the activities included in your approved Learning Agreement, you must promptly inform the Student Committee by email (career.procedures.CPE@dii.unipd.it), clearly explaining the reasons. This is required in addition to any other formal steps set out in the general University procedure. This is the only way to be sure that the remaining activities you have undertaken will be properly recognised in your study plan when you return to Padua.

In any case, if you send additional emails after your first message, you must always include the whole email thread. This allows the recipient to quickly review all previous communications, even if some time has passed. For this reason, you must always use the “reply to all” button for all emails that you send after the first one (even after some time).

At the end of the stay at the Receiving University

When you return from your stay at the Receiving University, you must formally submit your study plan according to the procedure indicated on the Unipd webpage.

Do not formally submit your study plan while you are at the receiving institution, unless this is incompatible with the deadlines for submitting the documents required for the Master’s degree final examination (these deadlines are the same for all students, regardless of whether or not they are participating in a mobility programme).

In addition to following the general University procedure, you must email the Student Committee and attach the same documents required thereduly completed and signed by all the people involved:

  • Mobility period declaration.
  • Short evaluation report for thesis work (if applicable).
  •    Proposal for credit recognition (if applicable).
