Course unit contents:
Functions: definition, one to one and onto functions, inverse of a function, graph of a function. Symmetry and periodicity. Principle classes of functions: linear, polynomial, rational, exponential e logarithm. Trigonometric functions. Limits. Continuity and Differentiation. Study of the graph of a function.
Integration.
Vectors and matrices. Determinant of 2x2 and 3x3 matrices, inverse of a matrix. System of linear equations.
Statistics: Sample mean, median and variance. Histograms. Quantiles. Basic probability: probability space, definition of a probability, conditional probability, Bayes rule. Discrete and continuous random variables. Binomial, geometric, uniform, exponential and Gaussian random variables. Inferential statistic: estimators and statistical tests. p-value.
