Mater thesis proposal
Dear students,
From January, the following topic for a master’s thesis is available:
Microstructure and Surface Texture Characterization of LPBF martensitic NiTi alloy by electrochemical polishing.
The objective of this thesis is to ascertain the impact of electrochemical polishing on the surface and microstructure of NiTi samples produced under disparate building orientations, thereby elucidating the influence of the polishing mechanism in relation to the anisotropy of the material. Furthermore, the corrosion behavior will be investigated through Tafel curves and evaluated as a function of surface textures.
The activities will be carried out in the Te.Si. laboratory in Rovigo and in the Mechanics, Metallic Materials and Mechanical Technology laboratories in Padua.
