Dear students,
The second machine learning exam will be on Thursday, February 9th, at 10AM.
*** Please read carefully all the instructions
below. ***
1) Please show up at least 15 minutes before the exam (i.e., before 9.45). After the start of the exam, no one will be admitted
2) We will use rooms Ae (close to the
department entrance) and Ke (on the ground floor, on the opposite side). The rooms and places are
pre-assigned, and the seating chart will be published tomorrow (most of
the people are in Ke). You must take your seat as in the list
below. The numbers are the "covid" ones used
also on the easy badge app. In general, lower numbers
are closer to the teacher’s desk and higher ones are in
the upper part of the room. If you are not in the
list let me know as soon as possible and in this case or
for any issue come to room Ke.
3) The exam is closed book: you will
not be allowed to use notes, books, phones,
smartwatches, computers or anything able to connect with
the outside. Since last time we had critical issues with
cheating, this time the policy with cheating will be
very strict, in particular anyone using their
smartphone will be immediately sent out of the room
(independently of why you were using it) and
eventually pointed out to the university offices
that could take appropriate actions including suspending
you from the university. Same thing for using hidden
books or notes. When you enter, please place
your bags and stuff on the side or on the hangers, not
on the desk. You should only bring pens and
pencils, as paper will be provided to you. The use of
non-graphing calculators is allowed, but you can solve
the exam without it. You may bring a bottle of water, to
check the time you can use a standard watch (not smart
devices).
4) Recall that by sitting in the 2nd exam
you lose the mark of the first, even if you withdraw. By the way most of the students passing the 1st
exam should have now the mark registered except
Life&Health students and students with special
situations (e.g. late HW deliveries or fixing the mark
in the registration session, for these cases wait still
a few days).
5) The homeworks are of course valid also for this
exam, independently of passing / not passing /not doing
the first. Further homeworks deliveries are not
possible.
6) You must also bring your university badge
or passport/ ID card, as it will be needed
for identification (this time no identification
showing the ID on the phone to avoid misuse
of it, see point 3).
7) The exam will last 90 minutes, and consists of 3
questions which may involve multiple sub-questions. It
is not possible to withdraw in the first 45 minutess of the
exam to prevent the text of the exam from leaking.
See you on Thursday, and good luck!
