The course is an introduction to 3D bioprinting for biological applications. Specifically, during the theoretical lessons, different technologies will be described, with a particular focus on extrusion bioprinting and the creation of G-code. Hydrogels will also be discussed as materials used from both a compositional and rheological perspective, along with the types of cells most commonly employed. Finally, some examples of bioprinting applications to recreate cellular microenvironments, such as the tumor microenvironment and skin will be examined. The course will conclude with a practical demonstration in the laboratory.
