The course provides an introduction to a set of advanced characterization methods for materials. They includes both x-ray based and ion beam based techniques, with visits to research labs and tutorials. Part of the course is focused on didactical labs, where students in small groups have the responsibility to carry on three different experiments to characterize the materials under investigation.
