The importance of secondary battery recycling will be explained based on the type,
raw material costs, and recycling systems. Various recovery processes for
separators, current collectors, carbon, polymeric ionomers, and metals will be shown,
and their different uses will be highlighted. Additionally, the different types of
mechanical and chemical pretreatments, component separation through sieving, the
use of magnetic and electric fields, thermal treatments, flotation, and chemical
processes will be described. Finally, hydrothermal and chemical processes will be
discussed. Future perspectives will also be illustrated.
